master mason

It has been almost a week since I was raised to the sublime degree of a Master Mason.
It was one of the most wonderful things I have been apart of. My Grandfather was there and took part in it.
I really don't know how to describe it. It has laid upon me an everlasting impression.
I am looking forward in increasing my knowledge in Masonry.
How can anyone who knows nothing about Masonry sit at a computer and write so many negative things about it? I have begun reading some things that are on the internet and to be honest it is very comical. It is also very frustrating as well.
For those of you who may have found this blog in your research of Masonry I can assure you it's a wonderful and enlightning experiance.

Master Mason 2 weeks away

I've been so busy i havent been able to post. Anyway, my fellowcraft degree was very interesting. The ceremony itself was not too diffrent than the entered apprentice. There was a long lecture afterwords on a few things which explained more and in turn made things come into a better light.
In two weeks I will be doing my Master Mason degree and I cant wait. So far this has been a wonderful experriance. Anyone thinking of becoming a Mason all I can say is do it. You will learn things about yourself that you had no idea about.

fellowcraft getting close

In about a week if everything goes well I will be a Fellowcraft. People go on about the memorization and how hard it can be. It can be hard if you only memorize it and not LEARN it. There is a difference between the two. Im feeling confident but do know that I need to get the obligation down better.
Masonry is a very interesting and wonderful thing. People that I had never meet until the night I was made an Entered Apprentice are eager and excited to help and coach me. They treat me has though they have known me for years. How great is that? They offer help and expect nothing in return. They put such an impression on you that you cant help but to want to help them when they need it. I dont know if this makes sense but if you've ever went through it, you know what I'm trying to say. Its very hard to put into words.
I've heard that the true secrets of freemasonry lies within the individual. I'm beginning to understand what that means.

one week one day

It has been one week and one day since I did my EA degree. WOW! It was an experiance that cannot be described.
I went through with 2 others guys that were similar in age to me. Some things at first were a little confusing but as time passed each thing I thought was confusing or strange began to make sense.
The phrase I've always heard was that Masonry takes a good man and makes him better. Like most people I couldn't really grasp the concept of that. How can Freemasonry make me or anybody a better man? Well, I found out one week and one day ago.
I'm very excited to continue my journey.

Thanks for the positive comments.

Saturday, January 5, 2008

I'm only 12 days away and I'm getting excited. I was told today that I will be be doing my Entered Apprentice degree with a few more people. They say it's much better to go through with someone else.
Like many people I have read all kinds of negative things about the Freemasons. The truth is that these people usually know only what they've been told by someone who thinks they know, who was told by someone else who thinks they know. The best research you can do is not on the internet but look around at the people you know to be a Mason. If the Masons were some kind of crazy cult would your father, grandfather or even the church deacon you know to be a Mason, be involved? Of coarse not.
