My journey through Freemasonry

As you can see by the title of this blog I will be sharing my journey into the international fraternity called the Freemasons.
For years I knew that my grandfather was a mason along with several uncles. I never really had a big interest in masonry until my great uncle passed away and I found out that he was a mason.
About this time I also found out that a co-worker was a mason. Most of the men that I knew were masons were "old" men and nowhere near my age but this guy was 33, just a few years younger than me.
I asked him for a petition and he got me one. It was a month later and I was told that an investigating committee was coming to my house to talk to me and my wife. I thought that was weird but how would they get to know me?
The meeting went ok. No weird questions or anything. It took another month before I was told I was accepted and that my Entered Apprentice Degree would be scheduled in Jan. 2008.
So now I am waiting for that day. As soon as I get my degree work done I will post my experience.
Don't think for one minute I'm gonna tell the secrets, though. :)
